Nice to see ya

Well, you all may not have seen me around, but I've been lurking(strange for such a spammer just a short time ago, I know). I have to say that there is a weird voyeuristic (sp?) sensation about doing so, but I am glad to see that many of the same people are still hanging around.

The GUI Championships were incredible. I am once again and always impressed by the ability of so many to make these skins come to life.

I'm on this site almost daily, but I probably still won't be very "talkative" as I have been bitten by life and without sounding ultra dramatic, I'm a different person.

I hope all of you stay healthy and well, and enjoy the upcoming holidays.

This is what I've been up to (not that anyone cares ) in my spare time.

Every WC page I pull up has this message box pop up and it only goes away when it is clicked on multiple times (it seems to go away when it is clicked on immediately over where the ads are if you are not a subscriber but that may be my imagination)

I've heard of magic mushrooms, and magical nights, but not a magic string. :)

Ooops.  I let my subscription run out.  That's no way to treat a top notch website like this, so I subscribed.  I encourage everyone who has not done it, to do it.  :)

a quote for the holiday

Apr 14, 2006 12:11 PM by Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
No one is exempt from tragedy or disappointment - God Himself was not exempt. Jesus offered no immunity, no way out of the unfairness, but rather a way THROUGH it to the other side. Just as Good Friday demolished the instinctive belief that this life is supposed to be fair, Easter Sunday followed with its startling clue to the riddle of the universe. Out of the darkness, a bright light shone.
The primal desire for fairness dies hard, and it should. Who among us does not sometimes yearn for more justice in this world here and now. Secretly, I admit, I yearn for a world "fault-proof" against disappointment, a world where my work always finds acceptance and my body does not grow old and weak, where sickness and terror do not run rampant. But if I stake my faith on such a fault-proof earth, my faith will let me down. Even the greatest of miracles do not resolve the problems of this earth: all people who find physical healing eventually die......"
'To be commanded to love God at all, let alone in the wilderness, is like being commanded to be well when we are sick, to sing for joy when we are dying of thirst, to run when our legs are broken (or our heart is). But this is the first and greatest commandment, nonetheless. Even in the wilderness, especially in the wilderness - you shall love Him.'

Well, at least while I'm bogged down at work, I can play a bit during the commute. My new ride is the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. A sort of retro version of the Landcruiser, the first vehicle ever to make checkpoint 6 on Mount Fuji.

It seems as though work and life are getting the better of me for a while. I'll be in as often as I can but don't see much of a break on the horizon. Unreasonable deadlines, indiscriminatory cancer of loved ones, and life in general will be keeping me at bay for a bit. I hope you all stay healthy and stay skinning. Remember that life on earth is fleeting for many, so if you can, try to stay on the positive side of things. Peace, and see you soon.
